Originally from Chicago, Doug is relatively new to the Sacramento music
scene. Doug has quickly established himself as versatile funky bass player
playing both pizzicato and thumb slap styles. Doug has performed and
recorded with numerous outstanding local musicians, and in 2001 he, along
with his then band Naked Heart, was nominated for a Sacramento Sammies
award in the category of Rhythm and Blues.

Doug is inspired by the musical talents such as Tower of Power,
Liquid Soul, David Sanborn, Boney James, Earth Wind & Fire
and various other groove based bands.

In 2002, Doug was added to the line up as bassist with local Sacramento legends,
Funkengruven. Doug has shared the stage with smooth jazz trumpeter Rick Braun,
Elvin Bishop, and Carmen McCrae as well as various other national acts.
